My name is Robert and the pretty lady in the picture is my best friend, wife and partner, Kendra. She's looking at a framed panoramic canvas-wrap print that's more than 5 feet wide.
I love the wide perspective captured by panoramic images, and as a photographer I enjoy the challenges of composing them. I've made many panoramic prints over the years and quite often I'm told, "It's lovely but I don't have any wall space!".
With our own walls covered in photos and other artwork, Kendra and I can absolutely relate to that, and we know most people do not have "disposable" income for large, expensive, framed prints no matter how nice they may be!
To solve these problems, I scaled my panoramic images down and began making them into 4" x 12" aluminum prints with handcrafted stands - no wall space needed. By ordering the prints in bulk, we were able to keep their prices affordable, and to further reduce costs I located domestic sources of scrap solid-surface material, which we purchase and use to make our own custom print stands.
This has the added benefit of reducing landfill waste... and there's no down-side to saving money and protecting our environment at the same time! Other benefits of aluminum prints quickly became evident:
Soon, our single product had expanded and morphed into an entirely new business called Metal Vistas™. We had invested 2 years (and much of our savings) into this venture, and we still had no idea if anyone would even want compact aluminum photo prints in custom stands!
By this time the pandemic was in full swing and all of our events had been cancelled - so we just kept growing our image catalog, improving and expanding our line of products, building this website and hoping for the best.
Eventually life began returning to 'normal' and we started vending at our local farmer's market and other nearby events. It was immediately evident people did want our new metal prints... and we haven't looked back!
We're very grateful to everyone who has chosen to live with Metal Vistas™ prints in their home or workplace. There's no greater compliment in our line of work - and we really enjoy making your surroundings more enjoyable!
